Find out more at sea.museumThe Records Management Officer is responsible for contributing to the Museum’s strategic direction for records and information management in line with Whole of Government information management policies, National Archives of Australia requirements, the museum’s Corporate Plan, and business objectives for records and information management.
The Records Management Officer will be a key evangelist for information management initiatives within the organisation, engaging with and influencing decision makers to invest in records and information management. They will undertaking a diverse range of tasks to support the effective management of the Museum’s corporate records, including the development of the records management program and systems.
Proper record keeping is an integral requirement for all Commonwealth organisations and supports strong business practices and decision making. An understanding of the regulatory environment that impacts records and information management will be critical for supporting the Museum’s information governance; working within an environment of constrained budgets, competing priorities and high customer expectation.
The role is physically situated within the museum’s library and will work with other museum information staff to provide a wholistic approach to information management across the organisation.
