It is part of Finance's program of initiatives to support a coordinated approach to AI implementation.The Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS), a transformational workflow system designed to streamline parliamentary records management across government.Specifically, the PDMS section is responsible for the ongoing support and development of the PDMS, through regular releases and upgrades. The section is composed of Agency Engagement staff, Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, Project Manager and a Support team.The PDMS is a key system that supports the workflow of a range of parliamentary and departmental documents, ensuring the timely exchange of information. The PDMS supports 70 federal government entities with over 40,000 users at the UNCLASSIFIED and PROTECTED levels. The system provides an integrated document tracking solution, including management of document drafting, approvals and referrals to other agencies, maintenance of historical records, and search and reporting capabilities.Business Enabling Services Group / ICT Division / Government Services BranchAPS 6 ($98,022 - $119,634), Executive Level 1 ($126,885 - $153,655) Ongoing Full-timeCanberra, ACTABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY PDMS Technical Lead (EL1)As the Technical Lead/Lead Developer within the Government Services Branch (GSB), you are responsible for setting development standards, frameworks and ensuring efficient code is created using established best practices. The lead is critical in fostering a collaborative development culture and driving technical innovation within the section and branch.Although predominately leading the development activities for the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS), you are required to stay abreast of similar activities across the branch and may be required to provide support and expertise to other sections and/or products.As the lead, you will guide and mentor team members, ensuring efficient development, timely delivery, and the overall quality of the delivered technical solutions. You will ensure all technical activities align with strategic product goals.To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in leading technical teams in an agile environment. You will be required to:Manage a small team to deliver PDMS and branch outcomes in accordance with product goalsManage workloads and forecast future resourcing needs including training and development opportunitiesProvide technical advice and direction of products. Set and ensure robust secure coding practices/processes are followed.Create and maintain detailed technical and/or security application architecture documents and technical release documentation.Set and ensure that best practice and branch standards are applied and managed in relation to application development.Forecast future (5+ years) technical requirements to ensure applications remain modern and reliable.PDMS Developer (APS 6)As a PDMS application developer in an agile team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, testing, and maintaining the PDMS application. Your purpose is to contribute technical expertise while collaborating closely with other team members, such as product managers, scrum masters, testers, and designers, to deliver high-quality, functional products iteratively and incrementally.
