About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to join our team as a Teacher of the Deaf. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to make a positive impact on the lives of students with hearing impairments.
**Your Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with school teams and students to enhance achievement and inclusion
* Deliver capacity-building initiatives, including Educational Interpreter (EI) and Auslan Language Models (ALM) support
* Maintain records per OneSchool and ISHS policies, including Personalised Learning and NCCD
* Communicate effectively with families, stakeholders, and professionals to support inclusion and adjustments
* Plan and deliver tutorial support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, focusing on capacity building, self-advocacy, and well-being
* Assist in planning and delivering effective teaching programs, including Individual Curriculum Plans and QCIA
* Stay informed on evidence-based teaching practices to improve student outcomes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* A relevant teaching qualification
* Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland
* Working rights in Australia, which means you have, or you are eligible to obtain a valid Australian Visa with work rights
