About the Role
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Senior Mining Engineer will be accountable for setting daily priorities for the mining team and coordinating execution activities to facilitate achievable production targets.
Responsibilities include:
8. Providing day-to-day operational direction to achieve required mining targets.
9. Review daily/weekly/monthly schedule attainment for continuous improvement purposes.
10. Ensures material balance requirements and movements are maintained.
11. Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimise operating costs, and effect greater utilisation of labour and materials.
12. Conduct medium and short-term planning and mine scheduling processes - with a window of 3-12 months.
13. Contributes to the creation of the budget physicals, forecasts and budget.
14. Project Management of satellite orebodies as required with the introduction of additional ore reserves in the medium to short term plans.
About you:
We are currently looking for applicants who are competent in the following areas:
15. Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering/Geology or associated.
16. Hold a Quarry Managers certificate of competency (NSW) or currently working towards obtaining or be willing to work towards obtaining.
17. Knowledge of managing people and resources effectively with effective team building techniques.
18. Experience developing people to be empowered, adaptable and who take ownership.
19. Capable of driving an inclusive interdependent safety culture.
20. Knowledge of working in a high hazard environment.
21. Contract management experience.
