About the role
Mercy Community Services currently has an opportunity for a Team Manager - Counselling. This is a Permanent Full-Time position based in our Ipswich office.
Provide effective leadership, management and support in the development and implementation of high-quality service delivery to children, families and other stakeholders in the counselling programs.
Salary: $106,388 - $111,091 (SCHADS L6) plus superannuation plus access to generous salary packaging
Reporting to the Senior Program Manager (SPM) - Counselling, your key duties will include, but not be limited to:
* Using models of practice, guidelines, and frameworks to assist clients in achieving their goals
* Provide guidance to staff in relation to their therapeutic engagement with clients, including children and young people, parents and carers.
* Oversee the preparation of a range of goal-focussed intervention and support plans which effectively guide service delivery
* Engaging in reflective practice and participate meaningfully in regular supervision sessions
* Working collaboratively with the SPM to identify and implement both staff and program opportunities and development
About you
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following:
Essential
* Tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology or related discipline and significant relevant experience
* Sound understanding of and experience implementing counselling interventions with children and young people, including those that have experienced child abuse and neglect as well as adults and families
* Experience developing and implementing individualised and/or family intervention plans
* Demonstrated experience in and the ability to motivate and mentor staff and build an effective team with a culture of high performance
* A positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
Desirable
* Tertiary qualifications in Management / Business
* Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License
* Strong understanding and knowledge of the Queensland child protection system
* An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and societies and the issues which impact upon them in contemporary society together with a commitment to culturally appropriate engagement and practice
