Accounting Manager (Construction Industry) Job Description
Key Responsibilities
* Manage accounting software, including MYOB, data entry, payroll processing, and reconciliations.
* Process payroll for 25+ employees, handle superannuation, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.
* Prepare P&L, balance sheets, and monthly management reports; experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost center management.
* Process invoices, reconcile accounts, manage credit card expenses, and handle collections.
* Manage BAS, IAS, and other ATO filings, including superannuation and payroll tax lodgments.
* Maintain asset registers, manage stocktakes, audit variances, and oversee equipment and fleet.
Operational Skills
* Establish accounting procedures, system integrations, and manage invoice financing.
* Assist senior management, prepare meetings, handle correspondence, and maintain office administration.
* Ensure compliance with WHS protocols for Queensland, including office safety, equipment tagging, and first aid.
* Establish strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and manage contract terms.
* Develop business leads, coordinate marketing initiatives, and manage social media platforms.
Additional Responsibilities
* Enter quotes and estimates, track project costs, and manage construction documentation.
* Review loan terms, plan asset acquisitions, and track debt against project cash flow.
* Supervise junior team members, manage team bonding activities, organize training sessions, and oversee onboarding processes.
* Manage MS Office, Procore, Deputy, and other software systems, troubleshoot, and adapt to new programs.
* Daily bank reconciliations, intercompany account management for 5+ entities, and ensure compliance in financial reports.
Special Requirements
* Ensure adherence to company policies on credit card usage, expense limits, and Deputy and Procore training.
* Manage tool registers, vehicle and equipment insurance renewals, and coordinate deliveries.
* Forecast GST and cash flow, organize quotes for business improvements, and optimize supplier savings.
