About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to develop their expertise and emerging research profile in their discipline.
The successful candidate will contribute to service and engagement roles and activities.
This project (The Wildlife Observatory of Australia - WildObs) aims to provide the infrastructure for wildlife camera data while collaborating with the acoustic community on standardization.
WildObs will serve as a purpose-built analysis platform and a data commons for wildlife camera data.
Key Responsibilities: Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.This is a research-focused position.

About You Completion or near completion of a PhD in quantitative ecology.
Demonstrated ability to manage large datasets using R and conduct hierarchical occupancy and abundance modelling.
An emerging profile in research in the discipline area.
Experience curating, managing, and analysing large complicated datasets.
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.
Some experience in meaningful service roles and coordination among stakeholders.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including the right to work in Australia and education check.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
