Due to a secondment and maternity leave, they are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic finance team for an 18-month fixed-term contract. The role is based in Kensington, NSW, and offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model. The finance function is integral to the success of the business, with a large, high-performing team of over 100 finance professionals. The immediate team you will be joining consists of 6 talented individuals, all reporting to a tenured Finance Manager, who provides excellent mentorship and support. The Role: As a Finance Business Partner, you will be a key contributor to the financial performance and strategy of the business. This role offers a broad range of responsibilities that will see you working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be tasked with providing actionable financial insights and ensuring financial objectives are met across multiple business units. Your core responsibilities will include: Financial Management Activities: Support the preparation and delivery of month-end, planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis activities, working with relevant stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. Financial Modelling & Scenario Analysis: Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decision-making, providing insights and recommendations to drive business performance. Business Area Financial Planning: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and customers to support the development of business area financial plans, report financial performance, and monitor expenditure across operational, strategic, and external funds. Variance Analysis & Risk Management: Investigate variances to budget and forecasts, identifying issues, risks, or compliance breaches and ensuring they are managed in a timely manner. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with customers/Chief Investigators to monitor budgets, ensuring data integrity and alignment to financial management and control frameworks, relevant policy, and contractual obligations. Ad-hoc Duties: Meet customer and Finance needs by undertaking any other duties required, commensurate with the role's responsibilities and level. Key Requirements: Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent is preferred). Experience: Proven experience in a finance business partnering role, ideally within a professional services or similar industry. Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is advantageous. Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Team Structure & Reporting: You will be part of a small, close-knit finance team of 6, reporting directly into a tenured Finance Manager who has a wealth of experience and a collaborative management style.
