About our clientThe National Fire Industry Association (NFIA) is the peak Fire Protection Industry Association for Australia.NFIA is the voice of the industry and represents a wide and varied Membership from the smallest sub-contractor through to large international construction and service businesses.About the roleAs the Policy and Government Relations Manager, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining relationships with state and federal government, focusing on key political issues affecting NFIA's members.You will work closely and communicate with members, committees, and key stakeholders to leverage outcomes.You will have the opportunity to work closely with a passionate and driven CEO and play a significant role in shaping the future of the fire protection industry in Australia.Duties include but are not limited to: Use your skills, existing relationships and experience to engage and liaise with government and industry relevant stakeholders.Write, draft, and develop high-quality submissions and other relevant written policy communications.Plan, research, and develop strategic responses to industry issues in alignment with industry goals.Represent the Association and Fire Protection Industry in meetings and roundtable discussions with Government and other relevant stakeholders.Develop Membership Communications on government changes.Manage and attend NFIA's Policy and Advocacy Committee meetings.Engage and manage relationships with NFIA Members across Queensland.To be successful you will have: Strong background working in policy and advocacy.Understanding of government structure and processes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to tailor your communication techniques to suit a variety of audiences and build and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues, government, industry, and other stakeholders.A high degree of self-motivation, with the capacity to work in a small team environment.If you are a passionate and driven professional looking to make a difference and impact policy at a dedicated and innovative NFP association, then this is the role for you!Please submit your resume and cover letter expressing your interest in the role.
