About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team at our Narngulu operation.
We are looking for a candidate with a proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks proactively and work independently under limited supervision. This fast-paced role will require a high level of attention to detail, exceptional teamwork, and communication skills.
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Coordinator, the primary function of the role is to assist in the optimisation of plant availability by carrying out onsite scheduled mechanical maintenance, as well as attending to and minimising any plant breakdown activities.
This is a residential role, working Monday to Friday on a standard 40-hour week.
Key accountabilities will include:
1. Completing both planned and unplanned fixed plant mechanical maintenance tasks
2. Conducting routine preventative maintenance inspections
3. Carrying out troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis
4. Solving reliability issues using fault-finding abilities
5. Continually assessing and improving the process, equipment, and procedures
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
6. A Mechanical Trade Certificate
7. A commitment to, and a proactive approach towards, safety and the environment
8. Previous experience in a similar role within the mining industry, maintaining fixed plant equipment such as Warman pumps, conveyors, screens, sizers, chutes, hoppers, general steel fabrication, pipework fabrication/welding, and scoping of jobs
9. Pump rebuild experience (highly desirable)
10. Good numerical, literacy, and computer skills with proficiency in SAP or a similar system
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Unrestricted WA C Class Drivers Licence
Desirable Criteria:
13. HR licence
14. High risk tickets - Crane ticket (CN), Dogman (DG), Forklift (LF), Work platform (EWP)
15. Experience with Confined Space and Working at Height is also preferred but not essential
