Role Overview
As the Retail Manager at Quinn & Co. Eyecare in Mildura, you’ll oversee the daily operations of the retail side of our optometry practice. This role combines management responsibilities with a focus on retail excellence, team development, and superior patient care. We’re looking for a proactive leader who can drive store performance, inspire our team, and uphold the Quinn & Co. commitment to outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
· Leadership & Team Management: Lead, motivate, and mentor the retail team to meet and exceed performance goals, creating a supportive and collaborative environment.
· Customer Experience: Ensure each patient receives high-quality, individualised service, from frame selection to lens fitting, while maintaining a friendly, professional atmosphere.
· Sales & Performance: Prepare budgets and drive retail sales by analysing trends, monitoring KPIs, and implementing strategies to maximise revenue and achieve targets.
· Inventory & Stock Management: Manage product displays, order stock, and maintain inventory levels to ensure product availability and efficient stock flow.
· Recruitment & Training & Development: Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new staff. Train staff on product knowledge, selling techniques, and patient care to deliver consistent, informed service.
· Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of products and services provided to ensure high standards are met and any issues are quickly resolved.
· Practice Operations: Assist in scheduling, managing daily operations, maintaining accurate financial records, reviewing policies and procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient journey through the practice.
Requirements
· Experience: Proven experience as a retail manager, preferably within the optical industry.
· Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
· Sales & Retail Acumen: Ability to analyse retail performance and implement strategies to meet targets, with a solid understanding of retail KPIs.
· Customer-Focused Mindset: Passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
· Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with optical products and services, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Sunix optometry software.
