Process Engineer Description
Key responsibilities include:
1. Generate daily, weekly and EOM reports/data on OPF production and metallurgical outputs.
2. Engage with OPF plant operators on correct operation philosophy of process units to deliver optimum quality and throughput.
3. Monitor plant performance and liaise closely with the Operations and Control Room team to maximize product throughput and maintain product specification.
4. Complete investigations and analysis on plant performance to identify process improvements and undertake/recommend remedial actions.
5. Liaise with the Quality team regarding feed blend to ROM to maximize product throughput and quality.
6. Provide assistance and guidance to metallurgical technicians to ensure accuracy of laboratory results and the safe, productive use of laboratory equipment.
7. Support the Process Engineering team in the development of budgets and cost forecasts, collaborating with OPF and Mine Planning teams to create Mine Plans.
8. Contribute to projects, trials, and shutdown activities for optimizing OPF performance, while also overseeing the development and maintenance of Safe Work Instructions (SWI) and assisting in training programs for process unit operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Minimum 3 years mineral processing industry experience.
2. Robust knowledge of dry and wet mineral processing Iron Ore unit operations.
3. Tertiary qualification in chemical, metallurgical engineering or a related discipline.
4. High level of verbal and written communication skills.
5. High level of computer literacy, proficiency with MS Office in particular Excel.
6. Data analysis and reporting.
7. SAP and delay accounting systems – desirable.
