The Opportunity Reporting to the Conference & Events Manager, the Assistant Conference & Events Manager at Q Station is pivotal in overseeing the daily operations of the conference and events team. This role demands excellent team leadership, ensuring efficient staff management for seamless event execution. Exceptional event planning skills are crucial, from liaising with stakeholders to managing all event logistics, ensuring every detail is meticulously organised and delivered to the highest standard. Additionally, the role demands excellent time management abilities to manage multiple events simultaneously, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and client expectations are met. Your Day to Day In collaboration with the Conference & Events Manager, support the management of daily operations while maintaining accountability for the service delivery across all conference and event outlets, ensuring exceptional customer service standards are consistently upheld.Manage and delegate tasks to staff members as directed by the Conference & Events Manager. Work effectively with Front of House + Chef/Kitchen brigade to ensure efficient service planning and execution.Attend regular weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) Meeting and Department meetings as requiredStrategically assess the staffing and rostering requirements throughout the shift and effectively manage daily timesheet approval.Training all C&E team members in service delivery and standard operating procedures of the department (onboarding & throughout employment).Assisting the Conference & Events Manager in ensuring all outlet areas and storerooms are well maintained.Supporting the completion of monthly stocktake (beverage, glassware, stock).Action and respond to the event run sheet and communicate feedback and any actions required to team after each event. What you can offer Q Station Proven experience managing corporate conferencing and wedding event operations. Hotel experience is highly desirable.Ready to take on challenges and exert an elevated level of creativity.Ability to multi-task and manage both operational and administrative workload (with minimal time behind a desk).Strong hospitality expertise, with desirable proficiency in both coffee making and bartending.Availability to work across a range of mid-week, weekend, and day/evening shifts.Maintain high attention to detail with exemplary cleaning standards across all outlets.The physicality to move across a two-story restaurant and large site.Maintain currency of RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification.Maintain current driver's license. The ability to drive a manual vehicle is highly desirable! Possess a current Food Handler or Food Supervisor Certificate OR is willing to obtain one.
