ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 7 : 7 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.
As the Port Operator, you will be responsible for supporting port operations, product handling, stevedoring, and equipment maintenance, ensuring safety and compliance.
Other key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with vessel stevedoring operations, including mooring and warping
* Operating and maintaining various fixed plant and mobile equipment
* Performing product sampling in line with quality standards
* Supporting port security and responding to marine oil spill incidents as needed
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
* Previous experience in port operations, shipping, or stevedoring
* Understanding of safety, environmental compliance, and hazard identification
* Experience with marine oil spill response procedures
* Ability to operate and maintain fixed plant and mobile equipment
* Communicate effectively and contribute to teamwork and problem-solving initiatives
* Strong mechanical aptitude & problem-solving skills with drive to learn
Qualifications for this position are:
* Current Drivers Licence
* Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
