Always.We are St Vincent’s Health Australia, Australia’s largest not-for-profit provider of health and aged care services.Founded by The Sisters of Charity in 1857, our +30,000 healthcare superheroes operate public and private hospitals, residential aged care, community and virtual care, and outreach programs.About the roleThe Drug and Alcohol Specialist Advisory Service (DASAS) is a 24/7 NSW state-wide telephone service that offers advice to health professionals on the clinical management of patients with Alcohol and other Drug (AOD) concerns.Working in tandem with the Hospital Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison (HDA-CL) team and Psychiatric Alcohol and Non-Prescription Drug Assessment (PANDA) Unit, you will assess and manage patients with drug and alcohol related conditions during hospital presentations and/or during care.You will develop, facilitate, implement, and evaluate care management plans for patients with complex health needs while providing leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice and initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.You will contribute to the development and delivery of specialty-related education programs and participate in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.About youYou must be currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.You should have at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field.Approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which you are appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney are required.Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking, and analysis in your daily practice as a registered nurse is essential.Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment are also required.Why work at St Vincent’s?Join us on our mission to provide care to all, including the most at-risk people in our community.Discounted access to many gyms for you and your family with Fitness Passport.Access to discounted private health insurance with Medibank.Access to a government salary sacrifice program.
