About you:
You have working knowledge of standards, policies, acts, and regulations relating to the provision of Fire, Safety and Security services within Health facilities. You can effectively supervise staff in line with quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour. You have demonstrated leadership qualities and cultural sensitivity in an ethnically diverse workplace and you are competent to operate computer information systems necessary to maintain and produce management information and reports.
Your opportunity:
To ensure the effective operation and supervision of security services, site access and identification, traffic control and a range of services at Cairns Hospital, ensuring that professional standards are maintained and the safety of our workforce, clients, materials, and assets are assured.
Your role:
1. Coordinate and supervise Fire, Safety and Security Officers in line with Queensland Health HR policies and standards and actively engage in the instruction, training, guidance, professional development, and support of staff.
2. Manage the performance appraisal and development of staff as required including managing and performance, Human Resource (HR) and capability issues.
3. Ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective Fire, Safety and Security service by exercising strong operational leadership and hands on involvement with the team.
4. Assist the Operational Services Staffing Allocations Coordinator and in the preparation and publication of rosters.
5. Respond to day-to-day queries regarding security services and escalate issues as required.
6. Manage parking and traffic control at Cairns Hospital, in liaison with stakeholders as required.
7. Report safety and security hazards or breaches.
8. Issue infringement notices as appropriate.
9. Participate in emergency response.
