About the opportunity:
As a key leader within the finance team, the Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for overseeing and mentoring assistant accountants to drive efficiency, enhance technical skills, and maintain high-performance financial reporting. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role ensures the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, leads process improvements, and upholds compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position plays a strategic role in financial decision-making, optimizing ERP reporting, and spearheading initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
What you offer us:

2. Oversee financial reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
3. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax reporting, and external audits.

5. Provide strategic financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis to support decision-making.
6. Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and risk management practices.
Skills and experience required for the role:
1. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Qualified CPA/CA
3. Minimum 7+ years of experience in financial accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
4. Experience managing a team.
5. Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, AASB standards, and regulatory compliance.
6. Expertise in ERP systems (Infor M3 preferred).
7. Experience in a retail, or distribution environment is desired however not essential
8. Business partnering experience – working directly with operational teams to drive financial performance.
9. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
10. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
