About Early Learning VictoriaThe Victorian Government is establishing 50 government-owned and operated, Early Learning and Childcare Centres, as part of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. These centres offer childcare, Three and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten and, where applicable, Pre-Prep. The first four centres opened in 2025, with all 50 open by 2032. Early Learning Victoria is an organisation within the Department of Education, which has been set up to establish and operate the centres. We have a large work program ahead of us, and it will take genuine flexibility, adaptability and teamwork to achieve this ambitious reform agenda.Your Duties Will IncludeOversee day-to-day facility management working closely with centre directors, including reactive and planned maintenance activities and supporting with make safe when required.Ensure alignment of asset management strategies with organisational goals and government policies, contributing to the strategic decision-making process.Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and service providers.Communicate effectively to negotiate and resolve complex issues and provide authoritative advice on facility and asset management matters.Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for facility and asset management that comply with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and manage risks associated with facilities and assets.Support the management of procurement activities and budgets for facility and asset management, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial controls.As the successful candidate, you will be required to have:Proven experience in overseeing day-to-day facility operations, including managing reactive and planned maintenance programs, ensuring operational efficiency and service delivery.In-depth understanding of compliance requirements related to health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a track record of effectively managing risks associated with facilities and assets.Strong capability in managing budgets and financial resources for facility and asset management, including developing business plans, service delivery models, and ensuring cost-effective resource utilisation.Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to apply a respectful and inclusive communication style.Strong administrative skills with a high level of knowledge and experience across the MS Office suite of products.Desirable: Experience working on projects in early childhood education and care settings.Desirable: A qualification in or related to Facility or Asset Management would be highly desirable.How To ApplyApplicants are required to submit a CV and cover letter (max 2 pages for cover letter) summarising their skills, relevant experience and suitability to the role in line with the duties, required capabilities and the Key Selection Criteria.Further InformationFor more details regarding this position please see attached position description.
