The Team
BIG W Finance Team is made up of people who are passionate about using financial analytics and insights to collaborate with our leaders and deliver towards our business initiatives. We are a curious and innovative bunch constantly looking at different ways to improve the business operations and customer experience. We support each other and work in an agile manner to deliver as one team.
What you'll do
As the Senior Business Analyst - FP&A, you will have the opportunity to partner with our finance team and across business functions to deliver towards BIG W Strategic priorities. The role will have exposure to all BIG W initiatives and use the data, analysis and insight to deliver the strategic financial plan and improve overall business performance.
Some other responsibilities would include:
1. Support the coordination and delivery of the Big W strategic plan and budget
2. Monthly Exco and Board reporting, business case writing, setting the operating rhythm within finance, and coordinating stakeholders to communicate forward looking insights
3. Deliver projected business performance insights through financial forecasts, models and scenario analysis to identify risk & opportunities
4. Leads finance in cross functional business reviews to drive continuous improvement and business performance
5. Proactively educate the Big W team around the value of Finance and collaborates effectively with the Finance team to educate stakeholders on FP&A business insights
What you'll bring
To be a successful SBA - FP&A, you don’t necessarily need to have experience in a Financial Planning and Analysis role. What you do need is a collaborative working style with stakeholders, good understanding of the prioritization of initiatives, and a curiosity mindset to contribute to the always improving team culture. You will also have a keen eye for details to deliver insights at a consistent high standard.
It will be good if you have:
6. Experience operating within a large & complex organization in the retail or FMCG industry
7. Tertiary qualifications in Finance related discipline
