* The Department of Treasury and Finance is seeking a Deputy Secretary to head up the Economic and Financial Policy Division.
* In this role you will have a focus on leading the division to provide strategic direction and high level policy advice on the State’s economic, financial and regulatory policies, including regarding budget revenues.

About You
As a key member of the Executive Committee, you will provide leadership on complex whole of government issues and formulate strategies to resolve emerging issues in portfolio areas of responsibility.
Your focus will be on meeting whole of agency and government objectives and providing strategic leadership and collaboration to support delivery of objectives.
You will have significant experience and knowledge in evaluating complex strategic options and providing authoritative advice on economic, financial and regulatory policies and financial management matters.
You will have demonstrated ability to represent and position Tasmania in relevant national forums, particularly in relation to the state’s financial relations within the Australian Government.

About the Division
The Economic and Financial Policy Division provides a wide range of policy advice on economic and financial issues, intergovernmental financial relations, State taxation issues and energy pricing related matters. The Division provides strategic advice; monitors the performance of Government businesses; and provides resources for the Tasmanian Economic Regulator, the Superannuation Commission and the State Grants Commission to carry out their statutory functions.
Period of Appointment
Appointment to the role is on a fixed term five (5) year basis.
Hours per fortnight
Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part-time hours.
