Melbourne, Sydney Investment Banking Contract or Temporary Our client is a revered, global financial services firm seeking a Business Analyst to work as part of a risk & compliance project team to support the delivery of a range of regulatory change projects. Ideally you will be in Melbourne, but our client can accommodate a Sydney-based applicant, on this initial 12-month contract. Reporting into the Program Director, the successful candidate will join a team of experienced risk and compliance professionals, working collaboratively with the business and second line teams both in Australia and offshore to deliver remediation risk programs/activities. Key Responsibilities: Analysing and evaluating existing operational processes to deploy risk controls and mitigants. Engaging and liaising professionally and collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders, including the Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team, Delivery Teams and other internal stakeholders, to understand business needs, current state and advise on what Future State should look like. Gathering and processing data to identify process performance areas. Conducting gap analysis and presenting summary of findings. Conducting in-depth data analysis, process mapping, and workflow documentation to identify opportunities for standardisation and optimisation. Designing workflow and process strategies to improve business performance. Creating and presenting process reports for approval. Overseeing the implementation of revised company processes and workflows. Monitoring the efficiency of updated workflows. Partner with Change Manager and Training Mangers to assist with the development and delivery of change as a result of the above analysis. Required Experience/Qualifications: 5-7 or more years of experience in risk management within Australia’s financial services / APRA-regulated entities including business partnering roles. Tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Finance, Risk or related field. Proven experience in process improvement. Strong experience working on regulatory compliance driven environment and projects. Experience working on compliance focused projects, highly advantageous. Driven by commercial acumen and the ability to think strategically to identify and mitigate risks to the processes as well as opportunities. Strong conceptual, financial, analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills. Additional Preferred Skills/Experience: Data Analytics (i.e., Tableau, PowerBI). Exposure to first line/second line/operational roles in in Asset Servicing/Fund Administration/Capital Markets/Cash Payments operations are highly regarded. Good knowledge of the latest industry trends and regulatory changes. The successful candidate for this position will receive a daily rate of between $700-850/day super, dependent on prior experience.
