CNC Machinist/Setter

The Company:
Our client is a leading high precision cutting edge CNC company working on aerospace components. Reporting to the workshop supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the the set-up and operation of the CNC machinery.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Set up 5 axis CNC Lathes/Mills per drawings, document packs or instruction
• Mentor workshop personnel and apprentices
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise
• Prepare for the job including verifying raw material and verifying job sheets in accordance with the technical drawings
• Operate machine centres where complexity or workload requires your involvement
• Responsible for inspection of the finished product to ensure it is defect-free
• Tooling management
• Verify Measuring Equipment, CMM operation
• Suggest changes to improve efficiency of manufacture
Qualifications:
• Certificate III in Fitting & Turning, Machinist or relevant experience
• Advanced engineering knowledge and experience for the machining of complex components
• Master CAM programming experience highly regarded
• Computer literate
• Strong attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication
• Organized and able to meet deadlines
• Able to work in a team environment
Proven competence in set-up and operation of a broad range of CNC machines and controllers
On offer:
Day shift hours: Monday - Thursday, 7am to 4pm, Friday - 7am to 12pm
with some flexibility,
Pay rate range: $35 - $45 plus super dependent on skills and experience,$50 per hour plus super with Master CAM programming experience
1% retention bonus annually
