The Store Customer Platform is accountable for all customer facing technology solutions within Coles Supermarkets.
Primary systems in the Platform's portfolio include the Point of Sale, Assisted Checkout, In Store Scales and Ticketing.
About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team.
You will be responsible for reviewing store platform applications and technology stack and document an appropriate automation framework which is applicable across the platform.
You will be responsible for the identification of future areas of automation opportunity within testing practices and will be the lead engineer in creation of future automation areas, including POS / ACO (FY25).
For existing ticketing suite, you will be responsible for reviewing the planned scope of change in each release, assessing which existing scripts are impacted and opportunities for new automation.
This also includes execution and maintenance of developed ticketing automation tool, as well as progress tracking and status reporting.
As part of this role, you will also be responsible for providing training support, mentoring and upskilling of manual testers to provide an opportunity to transition to quality engineers.
A key requirement in this role is proven experience developing and implementing automation frameworks ideally in a retail environment.
About you and your skillsAt least 5 years' experience as a quality engineerProven experience developing and implementing automation frameworksAt least 1 years' experience in automation of retail POSAt least 3 years experience in DevOpsProven experience tracking progress and status reportingTechnical Skills:
5+ years of experience in Test Automation & Software TestingProficiency in C#, NUnit/XUnit/MS Test, and object-oriented programming (OOP)Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress for UI automationStrong expertise in API testing using Rest Sharp, Postman, or GraphQL.Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).Knowledge of version control systems (Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket).Experience with BDD tools like SpecFlow (nice to have).Exposure to performance testing using JMeter or k6 (preferred).Work closely with DevOps teams to enable parallel execution and distributed test execution using Docker/Selenium Grid.We need a good communicator who is proactive, independent, motivated and keen to contribute to the team's growth.
