About the Role:As a key member of the Finance Team, the Senior Financial Accountant will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day finance functions across the AAM Group of entities. The role involves working closely with the operations teams and managers to monitor profitability, assist with budgeting, and deliver insightful management reports. You will contribute to the end-to-end financial process, ensuring the accurate compilation of month-end reporting, financial management, and providing actionable insights for operational improvements.This is an exciting opportunity to work in sheep, cattle, poultry and mixed farming operations, and provides a clear career progression path into a Finance Business Partner role, where you will have the opportunity to shape business strategy and decisions.Key Responsibilities:Financial Operations: Oversee financial accounting, transaction processing, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial management reporting, including statutory reporting and regulatory compliance.Reporting: Prepare and present individual site/entity financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, cash flow forecasts, and KPI reports, along with associated written analysis.Team Collaboration: Work alongside a team of finance staff, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), to deliver accurate financial reporting for the business.Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage the production of the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and updates, collaborating with operational managers to ensure accuracy.Cash Flow & Budget Monitoring: Manage cash flow and monitor budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with operational goals.Intercompany Accounting: Handle intercompany accounting, including reconciliations and consolidation of entities within the AAM Group.General Accounting Tasks: Assist with the preparation of BAS and other general accounting tasks.Ideally, the Successful Candidate Will Have:Tertiary Qualifications: A Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field is required.Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar financial accounting role, ideally within the agricultural sector or public practice.CA/CPA Qualified: CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards these qualifications.Agricultural Passion: A keen interest in and passion for working in the agriculture industry, particularly in livestock, sheep, cattle, and mixed farming operations.Financial Reporting Experience: Experience in preparing financial statements and delivering management reports.Budgeting & Analysis: Strong experience in preparing and analysing budgets, as well as identifying and reporting on profitability and progress against budget.Collaboration Skills: Proven experience working with operational managers to prepare accurate financial reports and budgets.Why Join Us?Career Progression: This role offers a clear pathway to transition into a Finance Business Partner position, where you will have the opportunity to influence strategic decisions for the business.Industry Impact: Work in a company focused on driving profitability and sustainability in sheep, cattle, poultry and mixed farming operations.Collaborative Environment: Join a team of skilled professionals, working closely with operational managers to improve business performance.Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package with opportunities for growth and professional development.If you are an experienced financial professional with a passion for agriculture and a desire to advance into a strategic business role, we would love to hear from you.
