Salary package up to $440,000 We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Specialist Geriatrician to play a key role in enhancing community-based geriatric care. This position offers a unique blend of inpatient, outpatient, and remote care, supporting elderly patients through transitional care programs, acute inpatient services, and community-based initiatives such as GEM, GEMHome, RITH, and HITH. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with General Practitioners, multidisciplinary teams, and fellow specialists to ensure elderly patients receive the highest standard of care. You will also contribute to the hospital’s training programs, supporting junior doctors and medical students. Your Key Responsibilities: Provide expert geriatric care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Work closely with GPs and allied health professionals to optimise patient care. Deliver geriatric assessments and case management for elderly patients. Support transitional care programs such as GEM, GEMHome, and HITH. Participate in teaching, training, and research initiatives within the hospital. Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement, and professional development. About You: Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (or eligibility to obtain it). Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine (or equivalent). Proven experience in geriatric medicine with a strong commitment to patient-centred care. Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate across disciplines. A passion for innovation and service improvement in geriatric healthcare.
