SafeWork SA (SWSA) is responsible for providing work health andsafety, public safety and state-based industrial relations servicesacross South Australia. As a regulator, Investigators andInspectors ensure work health and safety, and public safetystandards are met and appropriate action is taken when breaches oflaws are detected.
The Principal Inspector (Ergonomics/Human Factors) will beresponsible for the identification and delivery of coordinatedprograms, looking at the capabilities and limitations of humans tosystems across a variety of industries within SouthAustralia. The role will be responsible for providingspecialist advice and assistance to the delivery of state-wideintervention activities and represent SWSA at a State and Nationallevel within their area of professional expertise.

Role Summary

Special Conditions forEmployment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificateclearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicantswill be provided further information if an interview is requested.Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) underany circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing sowill not be recoverable from the AGD.
Special Employment Conditions
8. Engagement in this role is subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services General Employment Probity Check. A renewal will be required every three years
9. Some out of hours work may be required
10. Possession of a minimum Class C driver’s licence is essential
11. The Inspector will be required to take part in the on-call roster
12. Some intra and interstate travel requiring overnight absences will be required.
13. A Corporate wardrobe is supplied and may be worn in line with SafeWork SA Dress and Personal Protection Policy when interacting with stakeholders.
