Our Victorian Construction and Projects team is one of the largest in Melbourne and works in a variety of sectors, including education, social infrastructure, housing, renewable energy, healthcare, transport and water.
About the role
We are currently looking for a front-end Associate/Senior Associate (4-6+ years PQE) to join our highly regarded, dynamic and growing Melbourne team.
In this role you would:
* Work for a wide range of clients, encompassing a strong Government practice, major local and international contractors and principals;
* Draft, review, negotiate and provide advice on a range of project documentation, including construction contracts, consultancy agreements, side deeds and Project Deeds;
* Contribute to the team’s business development activities; and
* Mentor the more junior team members and work alongside Partners Simone Holding, Andrew Pitney and Sefton Warner.

Please note that all of our roles are flexible at Maddocks and we are very open to this being a part-time role (3-4 days per week).
About you
In order to be considered, to be successful and thrive in this role, you will:
* Currently be working as a transactional/front-end lawyer in a construction or projects team either in private practice or in-house;
* Have a sound technical legal ability and drafting skills;
* Have a genuine interest in working in the construction and infrastructure sector;
* Exhibit a client-focused approach with a deep understanding of commercial drivers in the industry; and
* Be an independent thinker, comfortable learning new concepts quickly and contributing your ideas to discussions.
