As a Insurance Specialist, you will provide subject matter expertise to the business on all matters related to insurance, including claims management, insurance placement, and reporting.
The appointment of this role will support and enable the three strategic goals in Aged Care and Community, Family and Disability, and Hospitals by ensuring efficiency and innovation in claims management as well as placement of a cost-effective insurance program that is fit for purpose in these growth areas.
Your part in our UnitingCare team: Ensure timely and appropriately worded notification to the insurer of any matters that may give rise to a claim in accordance with policy requirements.Manage the day-to-day transactional insurance matters that arise including the UnitingCare Insurance Inbox.Read and understand detailed legal opinions and manage complex, high-risk, high-value medical malpractice claims (in excess of $20m), ensuring the best financial outcomes for UnitingCare.Represent UnitingCare in a trauma-informed manner at meetings, conferences, hearings, mediations, and informal legal conferences for Medical Malpractice claims in partnership with the Synod Insurance Team.Ensure medical malpractice bordereaux is provided to relevant internal and external parties on a quarterly basis.Lead the management of other significant event claims by obtaining relevant claim information, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and the organisational response to ensure the best financial outcome for UnitingCare.Manage and maintain current claim data, records, and reporting using the claim management system.Utilise data analysis and claims trends to inform the annual insurance renewal strategy that maximises benefits to UnitingCare and Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS).Proactively engage and advise Group Executives, Senior Leaders, and other business stakeholders in all areas of insurance ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.What makes a difference for us?
