About the role
The Supporting Healthier Pregnancy Initiative is a statewide investment under the Putting Queensland Kids First Putting Queensland Kids First | About Queensland and its government | Queensland Government ( ( ) Strategy, aiming to empower pregnant women and their families for greater health and wellbeing through enabling healthy pathways, trusted health connections and ongoing support within the context of pregnancy as a significant life event. This initiative aims to build systems and capability for earlier access to antenatal care, identification of women that may need greater support, and enhance future-proofing preventative health practices in antenatal care, with referral pathways to support.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrates expert level of contemporary clinical midwifery knowledge, expertise and skills in midwifery practice and leadership enabling the delivery and supporting high quality care provision.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the statewide coordination team and HHS leadership to support Supporting Healthier Pregnancies Implementation (SHPI) and integration.
* Demonstrates the ability to lead local service mapping and gap analysis, working with antenatal care services to align needs with SHPI priorities.
* Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead the co-design, planning, and implementation of SHPI at local and HHS levels, contributing to statewide processes.
* Demonstrates the ability to manage governance processes for SHPI, identifying and addressing system-level barriers to delivering guideline-recommended preventive health practices.
* Demonstrated ability to develop local implementation strategies that integrate preventive health practices and drive quality improvements across antenatal care services.
* Demonstrates the ability to develop referral pathways for women requiring ongoing care in continuity models and advise on the training and support needs of antenatal care staff.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate across SHPI to track improvements, support implementation, and engage with local antenatal services, including participating in the SHPI Community of Practice.
* Demonstrates the ability to investigate and implement alternative care models where services are not locally available.
* Demonstrated ability to participate in data collection and contribute to evaluation and reporting mechanisms, ensuring compliance with statewide frameworks like Putting Queensland Kids First (PQKF)
Mandatory Requirements:
* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16(PDF) ( )
