About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide nursing care at an advanced scope of clinical practice including expanded skills and knowledge in assessment, care planning and implementation, diagnoses, and evaluation of nursing care for a cohort of consumer/patients undergoing surgical interventions at STARS. This role works collaboratively with the interprofessional team and contributes to enhanced consumer/patient outcomes by actively leading and supporting existing and emerging nurse-led models of care whilst maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the health service and consumer populations.
About you
This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North values and the corresponding Lominger™ competencies:
1. Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) – Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 8 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
2. Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
3. Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience and clinical skills and follow evidence-based care to manage, diagnose and treat patients in Robotic Surgery (Urology).
4. Use specialised planning and assessment skills to develop a comprehensive management plan for implementing and evaluating interventions related to Robotic Surgery (Urology).
5. Lead a portfolio to improve the care of patients within Operating Theatre Robotic Surgery (Urology).
6. Demonstrate clinical thinking and reasoning and advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement to support the interprofessional team in the management and care of patients within the Operating Theatre for Robotic Surgery (Urology).
7. Provide specialist level advice in the development of clinical practices, processes, procedures and protocols relating to patient flow within Operating Theatre Robotic Surgery sessions.
8. Integrate direction and priorities for quality improvement into care that establish a quality framework which supports achievement of evidenced based care outcomes for patients within Operating Theatre Robotic Surgery (Urology).
