Data Center Critical Facilities Specialist (Electrical)
Our Critical Facilities Engineering team are responsible for supervising and performing facilities engineering work, including alarm response, fault finding, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment relating to controls, electrical, mechanical systems and equipment.
We will be interviewing for an all-round Electrician with industrial/mission critical experience and ideally with expertise in (including but not limited to) UPS, STS, LV boards and basic controls. A smaller site team and on-call split evenly between all colleagues will give candidates with sound HVAC/mechanical knowledge an advantage also.
The position is Monday-Friday daytime hours at our ME5 Data Center based in West Melbourne and in a smaller team there is an opportunity to get involved in facets of the site from general maintenance through to upcoming project work.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility/Infrastructure Maintenance:
1. Perform daily checks and site inspections of the building and alarms.
2. Coordinate and lead preventative maintenance tasks and vendors and lead repairs and corrective maintenance efforts.
3. Connect with collaborators about major repairs and develop procedures for running them.
4. Coordinate and perform critical switching activities.
5. Maintain workplace safety practices and alignment to approved MOP’s
6. Ensure incidents are escalated and handled according to protocols.
7. Assist with capacity management and support other teams as needed.
Site Administration:
8. Run access control and security measures.
9. Ensure the fire protection system is active and perform integral actions.
10. Maintain and coordinate site records to meet compliance requirements.
11. Attend vendor meetings to discuss services and address any issues.
Qualifications, skills and attributes:
12. Electrical Trade Qualifications (Or Degree Qualified with proven experience)
13. Team first mentality and willingness to learn and develop on the job
14. Industrial, data center or Mission Critical experience preferred
15. Able to contribute to a shared on-call roster (approx. 1 in 5 weeks)
