We are on our path towards becoming the Commonwealths "Strategic Shipbuilder" in the West, aiming to be in contract for the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement (SSA). The SSA will establish an overarching program which enables the design and build of vessels at the Henderson Shipyard. The objective of the SSA is to possess the capacity and capability to initially deliver Landing Craft Medium & Heavy for the Australian Army in supporting continuous naval shipbuilding in WA. The SSA is about establishing the capability within the Henderson Precinct, and Western Australia, to continuously build vessels for the Commonwealth. It will be led by Austal, and will require the engagement of local industry, supply chain and workforce to be successful. The Opportunity The SSA Change Manager is a key position within the Programs Department, delivering together. You'll be reporting to the Transformation Program Manager, the Change Manager will be responsible for establishing the Change Management Strategy and Framework and designing and implementing the organisation's change management capability including setting up practices, processes, and activities in support of the Austal's Capability Strategy and Transformation Plan. As Austal is in its initial phase of standing up its organisational change practice, this will be a hands on role involved in designing, planning and implementing change activities across complex programs. This is role will include providing change management to projects and initiatives across the business as prioritised by the Transformation Program, identifying, and treating change management risks to the Program, and leading the technical development and practices of both change champions and project managers within the business. What's involved Establish and maintain organisational change management strategy and framework Design and implement change management practices, processes, tools and activities Develop change management metrics to enable measurement of success Change management to support initiatives, projects and programs as directed by the SSA Transformation Program Reporting of change outcomes across the project and program portfolio Technical and leadership development of Change Champions and Project Managers You'll need Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field. Hold at least 1 Change Management certification at practitioner level or higher. Minimum 10 years of experience leading, facilitating and managing change in complex organisational environments, including setting change management strategies and the design and implementation of change management practices, processes, and activities Application of a broad range of change management methodologies and frameworks, according to business need. Minimum 5 years management of Change Managers and Communications Specialists Demonstrated experience in:Mapping change requirements for organisational culture, governance, capabilities, skills, and roles. Capability maturity mapping and development planning Design and delivery of sustainable change in a long term, complex transformation setting. Communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, from enterprise management to front line staff. Establishing change management function in a maturing organisation. Change Management in multiple functional areas, including corporate, operations, and technology. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field e.g. MBA, Organisational Psychology, Communications Experience in continuous improvement, operating model changes, and digital transformation and systems implementation is highly advantageous.
