About the Opportunity
Reporting to the People Services Lead the role of the Payroll Officer plays an integral role in our P&C team function supporting WA, Cairns, Brisbane and Darwin.
The position is offered on a 12-month Fixed Term basis based in Henderson WA.
The role includes:
End-to-end weekly and/or monthly payroll processing
Reconciliation of pay and leave entitlements
Processing of new starter paperwork
Responding to payroll queries and attending to the People Services Inbox
Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries
Understanding, interpreting and applying awards, enterprise agreements and common law contracts
What do I need?
Minimum 2-years experience working in an autonomous payroll function.
Demonstrated end to end payroll experience and knowledge
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
High attention to detail and accuracy
Be flexible and demonstrate initiative and team work.
Working understanding of payroll related legislation, rules, policies, regulations, agreements (including EBA), awards and other compliance
A basic understanding of Human Resource principles and practices
A qualification in Payroll is highly desirable, or Finance/ Accounting or similar (desirable)
Strong IT skills, experience with either Definitiv, Xero, IFS or Preceda are essential.
