Sydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver design, construct, maintenance and facilities management services across the Southern Region of Sydney. D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. D4C is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join their expanding team to deliver excellence across the Southern Region. If you are successful in the role, you will be operating new and fully maintained equipment. Primary Purpose: To assist in Excavation and Operating of newly constructed watermains and stormwater projects. Individual projects range from 6-12 months with ongoing permanent work. When not operating, you will be required to help your team with other project-related tasks. Experience in Deep Excavation, Haul Road Construction, Bulk Earthworks and install of shoring/ground support systems are essential and attention to detail is critical. To be considered for this opportunity you must have the following: Experience within Civil Utilities Space Experience operating 18 -50 tonne excavators Deep trenching experience for inground services install Shoring/ground support system install experience Fundamental knowledge of backfilling methodology and geotech compliance Being able to interpret project drawings Excavator tickets (SOA/VOC) Own transport Extensive knowledge with Tier 1 safety protocols and excavation permit requirements. White card GPS experience Experience in a similar role in most of the activities listed above and be able to provide references Be physically fit to complete all tasks required Desirable Skills and Qualifications: Truck Licence (MR / HR Desirable) Front End loader Dozer Dump truck/Moxy Overhead and Underground spotter tickets Key Accountabilities: Safety compliance is to be your number one focus Following all D4C safety management procedures Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team, to achieve contract goals and objectives. Maintain D4C Plant and Equipment and Report any damage to the D4C fleet Manager Follow direction from all site management Safely excavating in and around live services and structures Positive community engagement at all times Operating Monday to Friday – 7am start - 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime and weekend work.
