Fountain Gate Secondary College is located in the City of Casey in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, approximately 40 kilometres from the Melbourne Central Business District. The school was registered as a Year 7-12 provider in 2009, and prior to that, was a Year 7-10 campus of Eumemmerring College.
We provide high-quality education for the Narre Warren community in a safe, supportive and educationally challenging environment. The College recognises and values the diversity of its community that is drawn from different social, economic and cultural backgrounds.
Enrolments are approximately 1240 students. The College successfully competes through several interschool sports, and our Rugby and Soccer Academies support students to achieve excellence both on and off the sporting field.
Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated capacity to implement Guitar tuition (including flexible and adaptive tutoring approaches) in individual and small group contexts to allow students to reach their full potential.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of Guitar Instrument teaching methods and how to implement them.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in Guitar instruction/techniques, a range of Guitar performance styles and demonstrated expertise in ensemble leadership.
4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, parents, colleagues, and the school community, as well as supporting the growth of the music program.
5. Demonstrated ability to monitor student achievement and report to the Instrumental Music Coordinator on student progress.
Role
Part time 1 day a week 9.35-4.00
The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field. It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position will be:
1. Provide professional student support services under the direction of the Instrumental Music Coordinator.
2. Provide strategic advice on specific support services and their impact on students, school curriculum and services.
3. Manage the use of and access to school resource and reference material.
4. Other duties as directed by the Instrumental Music Coordinator.
