About the opportunity
As the Senior Manager Payments you will lead the Payments team, managing the strategy and overall performance of core domestic payment products and services. You will collaboratively define the payments technology and product strategy and roadmap and drive the delivery of relevant initiatives. Supporting the Head of Cards and Payments, providing thought expert guidance and driving best practice in payments.
A senior member of the broader Cards and Payments team, you will collaborate with your peers to deliver customer-led, cross discipline initiatives. You will guide the delivery of enhancements and product health and vitality by collaborating with both key external partners (Such as Cuscal and AP+) and internal stakeholders.
In this role you’ll get to…
Assist the Head of Cards and Payments in defining, documenting and revising the payment product strategy.
Maintain relationships with key strategic partnerships
Provide expert operational risk guidance to product, operations and project delivery teams.
Lead a team of Product Leads and SME’s
Develop strong working relationship with Executives, Senior Managers, other key stakeholders and the broader teams including those within Digital, Up Digital Bank and Technology and Transformation.
What you’ll bring to the role
Experience in the financial services industry with an emphasis on card and payment systems. Including experience with payments products, projects, and relationship management.
To be successful in the role you will have:
A background in banking or payment systems such as NPP, b-pay, direct entry, cheques, and internet/phone banking.
People management skills, including coaching, mentoring, developing high performers and performance management.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent organisation and planning skills to be able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Sound analytical, problem solving, judgement and initiative skills.
The ability to remain calm under pressure.
