TheRole
Our passionate Strings team isseeking a talented, Double Bass tutor to commence Week 1, Term 3,2024, working within anestablished yet growing double bass program. Caulfield Grammaractively seeks and supports new teachers by ways of professionaldevelopment opportunities, observation andmentorship.
There is currently 2-3 hours ofteaching at our Wheelers Hill Campus with a high likelihood ofexpansion with students from our Year 2 and Year 7 InstrumentalPrograms.
The Instrumental Music Tutor isresponsible for teaching within the music department and therecruitment and retention of instrumental students while nurturingrelationships with all music students across the different campusesof the Caulfield Grammar School.
In this role, the Music Tutor willfocus on the following,
1. Delivering quality instrumental lessons to primary and secondary aged students
2. Working within a large String Team and the wider Music Department and School
3. Providing performance opportunities for the Bass students
4. Attendance at Concerts, Soirées and sectionals when required
KeyDuties
5. Act as an inspirational tutor, performer and mentor who models the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours
6. Be a dynamic, innovative and motivating musician
7. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students and staff
8. Contribute to a highly motivated team
9. Collaborate with the Head of Strings to support development of the whole school music program.
10. Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills andExperience
11. Proven tutoring experience within a school music program
12. Ability to tutor and engage primary and secondary aged students
13. Knowledge of Double Bass repertoire
14. Ability to prepare students for AMEB examinations or similar
15. Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
