Child Australia is an early childhood education and care organisation providing services throughout Western Australia and Northern Territory regions. Working collaboratively with children, their parents, families, early childhood professionals and the local community, we aim to develop and expand the education and care that children receive within their first years of life.

About the Opportunity
Child Australia West Pilbara Mobile Children’s Services are funded by the Australian Government National Indigenous Australians Agency. The West Pilbara Mobile Children’s Service implements a Quality Education and Care program to remote Indigenous communities located in the Pilbara region of WA. Our program is influenced by the Early Years Learning Framework and reflects the individual context and culture of each community we implement the program on.
Our team travel to remote communities on a weekly basis and provide opportunities for children to learn and develop through intentional play experiences, offering them the opportunity to access quality educational programs prior to entering formal schooling.
We have an opportunity for a motivated and energetic Educator to join our West Pilbara Mobile Children’s Services team based in South Hedland. As you travel and meet different communities, you will have the flexibility to adapt the program to suit changing needs.
This role is a Part Time Fixed Term opportunity commencing from now until May 2025. Candidates with immediate availability to commence will be highly regarded.
Hours are worked during the school term ONLY: Monday - Thursday 7am-3pm with school holidays off.
Responsibilities include:
1. Building and strengthening relationships with Indigenous families and children
2. Planning, creating and delivering play based learning experiences to children and families in remote communities
3. Collaborating with local health and wellbeing services
4. Traveling on the road for up to four hours a day, three days a week. 4WD is occasionally required.
5. Assisting with documentation
6. Food preparation
7. Loading and re-loading of equipment and resources, unpacking and setting up
8. Maintenance and cleaning of the equipment and resources
To be successful in this role you will need:
1. National Police Check
2. Valid Working with Children Check Clearance
3. Current driver's license
4. First aid certificate
