We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Department – General Medicine to lead our growing general medicine department in Hobart, Tasmania.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic Staff Specialist passionate about practicing holistic general medicine, leading and mentoring medical staff, and contributing to quality improvement. They will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellence in healthcare, focusing on patient-centered care and achieving improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce, and community.
The ideal candidate will have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine and a strong commitment to providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients. They will also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, trainee and IMG supervision, and research activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care
* Provide professional leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff
* Be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
* Support and participate in service development to improve current services and develop new services
The Package
A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances, and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority. This may include a range of benefits such as living expenses, meal entertainment, and accommodation and relocation costs.
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range is subject to satisfying the criteria outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
