The centre aims to enhance the parent-child relationship and support parents with strategies for achieving their parenting goals. These goals are often in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviours, and parent and child health and wellbeing.These goals are achieved through structured programs that vary from residential, day stay and in-home support. Programs include:psychosocial, physical and developmental assessmentsparenting educationcounsellingplay-based activitiesThe Barwon Early Parenting Centre is located within the McKellar Centre precinct on Ballarat Road in North Geelong.About the roleThe role of the Registered Nurse or Midwife is to plan, implement, evaluate and maintain a high standard of care in order to achieve desired outcomes, at the same time:Recognising the needs and acknowledging the dignity, culture and values of all consumers and their families/significant others.Empowering all consumers and their families within a service that embraces attachment and parenting growth through learning.The Registered Nurse or Midwife ensures effective and efficient utilisation of resources in the provision and delivery of high quality parenting service to families and delivers early parenting programs that meet staff, client and stakeholders objectives.
