Responsibilities of the Role
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
1. Education and Liaison: Educating, informing, and liaising with mainstream services to enhance participant experience and boost social and economic participation.
2. Stakeholder Relationships: Maintaining local relationships with relevant key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
3. Team Collaboration: Working as part of a high-performing team to effectively engage with people with disabilities, their families, and carers using a nationally consistent engagement approach.
4. Representation: Representing the NDIA at external forums and events, providing information and guidance to people with disabilities, NDIS participants, and the wider community.
5. Project Delivery: Proactively delivering engagement activities and projects aligned with the NDIA Engagement Strategy by applying communication and engagement expertise.
6. Effective Communication: Delivering clear, concise, and effective messaging to people with disabilities, their families, and carers, as well as other community and mainstream stakeholders.
7. Inbox Management: Managing the state/territory engagement inbox, acting as a point of escalation for triaging inquiries and requests.

Work Environment Characteristics and Requirements
The role is required to be performed in a work environment that has the following core characteristics:

9. Remote Work: Occasional work from home.
10. Hot Desk Environment: Shared workspace.
11. Sitting Periods: Significant periods of sitting at a counter or desk.
12. Telephone Operation: Regular use of a telephone.
13. Computer Work: Computer/screen-based work.
14. Software Proficiency: Ability to use computer/software applications, including Microsoft Office and relevant business applications such as client records management systems.
15. Assistance Animals: Potential presence of assistance animals in the work area.
