About the role:
Unitywater is seeking a Unit Leader for Mechanical and Electrical Projects to lead a talented team in delivering efficient mechanical and electrical solutions. In this vital role, you will oversee minor capital projects and major corrective works while managing budgets, staffing tradespeople, mentoring electrical apprentices, and allocating resources to achieve performance targets. In this position, you will serve as the electrical endorsee for the business, ensuring compliance with regulations from an electrical standpoint and upholding a strong commitment to electrical safety. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance to safety and environmental standards, and collaborate across the business to support our essential water distribution and sewerage networks.
About you:

1. Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30811) or equivalent associate diploma.
2. Ability to obtain nominee status on Unitywater Electrical Contractors Licence QLD.
3. Certificate IV in Frontline Management or willing to obtain.
4. Proven ability to influence a unionised field-based workforce for safety and productivity.
5. Capability to manage budgets exceeding $1 million.
6. Excellent understanding of AS/NZS 3000:2018 standards.
7. Experience with supervising and mentoring of apprentices.
8. Reviewing of electrical drawings to ensure both regulatory and Unitywater’s electrical standards and specifications are maintained.
9. Managing and engaging contractors to complete routine servicing on different electrical and mechanical infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency and cost savings.
10. Understanding of mechanical and electrical service delivery in the water industry.
11. Knowledge of water supply, sewerage, and recycled water operation and maintenance activities.
12. Understanding of workplace health and safety compliance and regulatory requirements.
13. Good understanding of contract management principles.
14. Ability to manage emergency response situations.
15. Effective written and oral communication skills.
16. Skill in building long-term relationships with stakeholders, peers, and team members.
17. Strong skills in scheduling and rostering.
18. Proficiency in MS Office and Unitywater's enterprise asset management systems.
19. C Class Driver’s License.
