Position Classification: Senior Resident Medical OfficerRemuneration: $97,993 - $139,187 per annumSenior Resident Medical Officer – Emergency MedicineOrange Health ServiceThis position offers accredited Emergency experience up to 24 months for trainees of relevant colleges (ACEM, CICM, RACP, RANZCOG, RACGP). This post would particularly suit FACEM trainees, TS1 to TS4, looking for experiences in a busy regional referral & trauma centre. It's also catered for applicants wishing to develop a baseline practical skill set in Emergency Medicine as our ED is ACEM-accredited for EM advanced qualifications (certificates and diplomas).The contract for this position can be one or two years and our institution will be working to provide non-ED terms as individual requires. Available non-ED terms within OHS include General Medicine, Anaesthetic, Paediatrics, ICU and psychiatry. Secondments from ED will be discussed and managed by supervisors of training among all specialties. Rotations to tertiary EDs can also be negotiated. Responsibilities and opportunities for autonomous practice will be possible commensurate with level of expertise and experience.Orange Health Services is a 270-bed major non-metropolitan referral hospital, serving a population of 300,000. It constitutes the largest Rural Campus in the Southern Hemisphere. It is the regional trauma centre for Western NSW and has a fully FACEM staffed ED. The Intensive Care Unit is the referral unit for the Local Health District. It is a level 5 unit and is staffed accordingly. There are a comprehensive range of specialist services including almost all medical and surgical services, with the exception of spinal, burns, cardiothoracic and neurosurgical. Of note, there are services such as interventional cardiology, and endovascular suite, and excellent on-site digital radiology, including a 3T MRI and 2 LINACs for radiation oncology. Orange Health Service also has acute specialists in cardiology, renal, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, haematology, neurology, ophthalmology and specialists in medical and radiation oncology.
