The Asset Engineer will play a crucial role in optimising and managing water assets to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and sustainable water services. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess asset performance, develop improvement strategies, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This contract role will contribute to the effective management and optimization of water assets, focusing on sustainability, reliability, and performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality water services. Key Accountabilities Asset Management Compliance:Adhere to all relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies related to asset management, including safety and ethical standards. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve asset management goals and support colleagues in their work. Participate in team meetings, providing constructive feedback and insights to enhance team performance and asset lifecycle management. Prioritise Safety: Take responsibility for your own safety and that of your colleagues by following safety protocols and procedures. Ensure compliance with Water's Safety in Design processes and asset safety standards to minimize health and safety risks in asset management activities. Asset Performance Optimisation: Contribute to the assessment, planning, and execution of asset performance strategies, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of water infrastructure. Assist in managing workloads effectively and participate in resource allocation discussions to optimize asset management efforts. Customer Engagement: Develop and clarify scopes of work for asset management projects in collaboration with team members and stakeholders. Keep clients and stakeholders informed about asset performance and any updates related to costs and project timelines. Technical Standards and Innovation: Ensure asset management practices and recommendations comply with relevant standards and guidelines. Actively participate in the development and improvement of asset management processes, tools, and documentation to drive innovation and efficiency. Qualifications: A degree in Engineering (B.Eng) in a relevant discipline. Experience in asset management and engineering design, with the ability to assess and solve technical problems related to water infrastructure. Strong communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders and effectively conveying asset-related information. Ability to prepare professional reports and engage in technical writing related to asset management. An Associate Diploma in Project Management or similar qualifications is desirable.
