The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor to join our Canberra team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will be part of a great team and will be responsible for overseeing a range of interesting defendant files on behalf of insurers and government clients. In this mixed practice role, you will receive ongoing mentoring and development from a Principal, as well as support from the wider team. Key Responsibilities The core responsibilities of this role include: Managing and assisting defendant insurance litigation matters Managing a diverse range of defendant insurance matters, including public liability claims, subrogated recovery actions, ACT workers compensation and NSW CTP injury claims Conducting research and drafting advices, pleadings, submissions, and briefs Negotiating settlements, attending conferences, mediations, court and managing court processes Advising and communicating directly with clients (client relationship management) Providing guidance and mentorship to junior lawyers and support staff Requirements Minimum 2-5 years post-qualification experience, gained predominantly in Insurance Litigation Experience and specialisation working across ACT workers compensation preferred Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and other practitioners Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team A keen eye for detail and excellent time-management skills Your new team Our team is made up of highly skilled and dedicated legal professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients.
