This position is 2 days per week and located at Nepean Hospital.Your role within the EPAS Team is responsible for caring for stable women less than 20 weeks gestation, experiencing early pregnancy complications including but not limited to threatened and early pregnancy loss. The aim of the service is to provide a standardised model of care providing assessment and support, investigations, appropriate referrals, meeting the clinical and emotional needs of the woman and her partner/ support/ family.The other required role in the position is to facilitate the care pathways for women suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) of any gestation, providing compassionate care, assessment, support, referrals, collaborative multidisciplinary care plans including intravenous hydration as required throughout the pregnancy and meeting the emotional needs of the woman/ partner/ family.Our positive and innovative environment will offer many opportunities and career pathways whilst being supported by an experienced and dedicated team consisting of a Nurse Manager, NUM's, Nurse Practitioners, CNC's, CNE, CNS's and RN's. A strong commitment to achieving safe clinical outcomes for women and their families experiencing early pregnancy complications including early loss and hyperemesis gravidarum. Demonstrates strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work both independently, within scope of practice and collaboratively following consultation and referral guidelines. Competency in IV cannulation and venepuncture or willingness to undertake training. Demonstrates effective communication skills both verbal and written with women and the wider multidisciplinary team, demonstrating computer literacy with EMR and other relevant software systems, with the ability to maintain accurate documentation. Demonstrates understanding in supporting the emotional needs of women and consideration of relevant referrals for EPAS and Hyperemesis.
