About TRTS
The Office of Teaching and Research Technical Services (TRTS) is a large organisation with over 100 staff divided into 5 clusters. The three teams within the Health Cluster provides specialist technical support to students and staff from the Schools of Health Sciences, Science, Medicine and Nursing and Midwifery.

The Office of Teaching and Research Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Medical Sciences Team.
About you and the role
As a Technical Support Officer (Medical Sciences), your primary focus will be ensuring the highest quality technical services for teaching and research facilities and equipment. You will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of the next generation of Scientists by facilitating practical activities and maintaining laboratory facilities at the highest standards. You will also collaborate with professional and academic colleagues to prepare classes and equipment in Teaching Laboratories, ensuring compliance with biological and chemical management, inventory, waste disposal, and OGTR Certified PC2 research laboratories.
To succeed in this role, you should possess an undergraduate degree in Medical Science, Microbiology, Biology, or Biomolecular Sciences, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. A client-focused mindset, innovative thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to a culture of continuous improvement are essential. Additionally, you should have extensive experience in undergraduate technical support, including preparing and setting up practical teaching places in laboratory, clinical, and other specialised practical teaching facilities.

Applicants should be aware that this role will be based at Campbelltown campus, however as Western Sydney University is a multi-campus university travel to other campuses may be required when operational needs arise.
Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $107,358 to $115,073 p.a. (comprising Salary of $90,719 to $97,238 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
