Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health (Kambu Health) is a not-for-profit community-controlled health, human services and education organisation delivering on the health and wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Ipswich and West Moreton region. We facilitate and promote Primary Health Care Services and strive to establish state-of-the-art comprehensive Health Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

About the Role
Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health (Kambu Health) is seeking General Practitioners for our Ipswich Clinic. Kambu Health Ipswich is a well-established clinic with excellent community engagement and is well supported by Nursing staff and Aboriginal Health Workers. If you are interested in making a meaningful impact on health outcomes in Aboriginal Health and working on the frontline, we encourage you to consider the following opportunity.
We are seeking General Practitioners (VR and Non-VR) for 2x 12 hours shifts Thursday and Friday and 1x8 hours every Saturday – these hours will constitute a full week with 4 hours for your administrative time which you can do in the convenience of your own home.
As a General Practitioner (GP) you will work within our established team to deliver comprehensive and holistic health care within the framework of the IUIH model of care to achieve improved health outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Culturally appropriate health care provision begins with rapport building and includes acute illness or injury, prevention, early detection, chronic disease management, care throughout the life span, health promotion, support for social-emotional wellbeing and consideration of the social determinants of health.
715 Health Check are utilised at Kambu Health as a vital tool improving the Health and Wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Supporting early detection and management of Health Conditions, promoting a holistic approach to Health, and contributes to closing the health gap in Australia. All General Practitioners have the options to attend local schools to conduct 715 Health Check’s.
Key Selection Criteria
* Registration as a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner with AHPRA
* Current Insurance Indemnity
* Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
* Ability to support a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
* Vaccinated against COVID-19 as per the Kambu Health Vaccination Policy, inclusive of Booster and/or ability to comply.
* Criminal History Check - Employment is conditional upon maintaining a clear personal history screening checks prior to and throughout employment.
