ROLE OVERVIEW
8. The Network Operations Support Officer provides technical assistance, information, and support to users to solve reported issues, manage general network connectivity issues and prepare summary reports for the management, monitoring and
9. operations of ICT communications and security. This role is part of the wider Network team servicing all networking and connectivity operations to all clients sites, 24/7.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
10. Provide operational support for the voice and data communications network and its users and solve non-complex problems to minimise system down-time and loss of productivity.
11. This role will primarily provide remote network support to Client users and other teams within the organization. No need to travel to sites. They will be primarily office based and work within a range of standard office hours 9:00-5:30pm.
12. In terms of responsibilities, they will provide first point of networking support for:
13. Cisco VOIP phones
14. Network Monitoring
15. Troubleshooting LAN/WAN network connectivity issues
16. Configure Cisco Switches and Routers
17. Cisco Audio/Video Conference support
18. Troubleshoot Client Wi-Fi connectivity
19. Provide technical support to Field Support and Engineers
20. Liaise with vendors such as Cisco, Telstra, TPG, Uecomm, The Frame Group
21. Troubleshoot Cisco hardware and firmware issues
22. Identify cabling faults and liaise with approved cablers to rectify cabling faults
23. Implement standard set up activity for network, audio visual equipment and other ICT systems in line with SLA’s, policies, standards, and guidelines.
24. Monitor and analyses network performance of existing and new systems and assist with the identification of faults or potential issues and suggest potential solutions.
25. Contribute to the development of reference materials to assist the ICT support community through maintenance of documentation on system configuration and technical processes.
26. Provide on-call support on rotational roster basis
SELECTION CRITERIA
27. Experience in a similar role providing first point network support on Cisco devices, networking, phones, switches/routers, teleconferencing.
28. Given they will be part of a 24/7 team, they will need to be on call for 1 week once a month to support out field operations.
