About the role Network Planning Engineers focus on identifying and resolving capacity constraints within the network by devising cost-effective solutions and implementing them efficiently. They also oversee the development and management of network configurations to ensure optimal performance and scalability. Key accountabilities Carry out analysis of the distribution and sub-transmission networks under different loading scenarios to identify, understand and document capacity constraints Identify and evaluate options to overcome identified constraints; developing business cases including risk cost assessment, modelling of expected unserved energy and NPV analysis. Develop and document detailed Area Plans that provide a long term view of network investment needs in defined geographical areas and develop and document the supporting technical and economic analysis. Developing and maintaining relationships with major customers, proponents of major load connections and other developments that enable a two-way flow of information that meets the needs of both parties. Provide planning advice into the network connections process in accordance with Company planning standards that represents value for both customers and the Company. Provide professional advice to external planning agencies such as Greater Cities Commission, Department of Planning and Councils with respect to capacity to supply growth.
